To protect the public by providing pretrial detention services for local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies as well as a place where sentences imposed by the court will be served.
In carrying out the mission, the South Fulton Municipal Regional Jail will operate in accordance with Federal Law's, Georgia Codes, and Georgia Jail Standards. We acknowledge that most inmates held in the facility will ultimately return to the community. As a result, the facility and its staff have an obligation to provide access to basic human services that may facilitate the reintegration of the inmate population as law-abiding, responsible citizens.
The South Fulton Municipal Regional Jail is a medium custody detention facility located in downtown Union City. Our facility is capable of housing approximately 325 inmates, which includes housing approximately 40 females. Our staff is certified in accordance with the Georgia Peace Officer Training Council requirements for Detention Officer/Jailer and receives constant training during the year to ensure a high level of professionalism and quality customer service to the public, vendors and confining jurisdictions.
