Fayette State Correctional Institution is located in LaBelle Pennsylvania. It is a maximum security prison that has a current population of approximately 2,054 inmates. Offenders are housed in 11 housing units which are comprised of multiple occupancy cells, and dormitories. SCI Fayette participates in the Correctional Industries program and employs inmates in a license plate factory producing plates that are used throughout the state. Furthermore, the metal factory produces metal furniture that are used in prison cells. The community work program at SCI Fayette provides inmate labor in landscaping various government agencies, cemeteries and parks, the loading and unloading of trucks that provide goods for the local food banks, and picking up litter from roadways.
Offenders at Fayette State Correctional Institution can take violence prevention and anger management courses, receive alcohol and substance abuse treatment, and receive a variety of sex offender treatments if they are convicted of a sexual crime. Vocational training and certification is provided for inmates in CAD, carpentry, HVAC, and welding (certificates not available for all programs).
Visitors at SCI Fayette can bring up to $50 and exchange them for tokens prior to entering into the visiting room. Visitation is on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:15am-3:30pm. Visitation is closed on the last Monday of each month.
